Jacqueline (Jackie) Kakembo is best described as a humble Servant for All People.  She has served in many important positions.  They include:

The Chair of the DMV Alumni Association of Operation Crossroads Africa

  • Most frequent and longest serving President of the African and American Woman’s Association
  • Peace Ambassador for Universal Peace Federation and Global Peace Foundation
  • Delegate to Sudan with Give Peace a Chance
  • Co-Founder of Spirit of Life Charitable Foundation
  • Founding Board Member of Kokrobitey Institute, Ghana
  • Project Manager for first Africa Day Forum World Bank/International Monetary Fund
  • Board Member/International Liaison for African Art Museum of Maryland
  • Delegate to Angola at the invitation of the Tocoist Church commemorating “The Year of the Return”
  • Cultural and Public Affairs Officer for Embassy of Liberia, Washington, DC
  • Consultant for the African Ambassador’s Spouses Association

Jackie is a lifelong learner, educator, Pan Africanist and humanitarian.  Her formal education includes:

  • Under Graduate studies Nursing Hampton University
  • BSN and MSN (Anesthesiology) Dominicus Krankenhaus Duesseldorf, West Germany
  • Certification ESOL Instructor University of Maryland Baltimore

Jackie life’s journey has taken her from Roxbury, Massachusetts to Germany, Holland, Paris, London, Greece, Italy, Turkey,  Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Norway, Denmark, Saudia Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Uganda, Rwanda, Angola, Togo, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Liberia, Senegal, Morocco, Western Sahara, Sierra Leone, Mali, Niger, and Nigeria.  During her travels she provided care, while sharing her knowledge and life experiences.

Jackie currently lives in Columbia, Maryland with her devoted husband Dr. Henry Kakembo of Uganda.  She is proud parent to three children and five grandchildren.
